HerCCUleS project meeting in Tallinn 11-12.06.2024
& CCUS DISSEMINATION EVENT (Tallinn, Taltech, 13.06.24)

CCUS Dissemination event organised by two European projects – HERCCULES project and CCUS ZEN, supported by the Horizon Europe Program took place in the Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology) on 13th June. About 50 people on site and 30 online from research institutes, universities, oil and engineering companies (e.g. Eni – Italy, Energian – Greece, Buzzi S.p.A.- Italy, etc.), new technology providers, Bellona Foundation, Global CCS Institute, and local industrial stakeholders took part in the event. Presentations were made in three sessions and finalised by Panel Discussion.
New technological developments, projects in operation and under construction, CO2 capture, transport, use and storage (CCUS) scenarios, new European regulations, regulatory and social challenges and prospects for wide industrial implementation of CCUS technology, permitting reaching climate neutrality by 2050 in the Baltic and Mediterranean regions were discussed during the day.

11-12.06.24 in the Park Inn by Radisson Central Tallinn hosted a meeting of Europe’s largest practical project of the entire CCUS chain, including the capture and injection of CO2 into geological reservoirs in Greece and Italy – HERCCULES project (HERCCULES: HEROES IN SOUTHERN EUROPE TO DECARBONIZE INDUSTRY WITH CCUS). SHOGenergy one of the participants in this unique project for Europe, was the organizer of these events in the capital of Estonia last week.
