HerCCUleS Project Meeting in Tallinn 11-12.06.2024 & CCUS Dissemination Event (Tallinn, Taltech, 13.06.24)

The CCUS Dissemination event, organized by two European projects – HERCCULES and CCUS ZEN, supported by the Horizon Europe Program, took place at the Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) on 13th June. Around 50 people on-site and 30 online, including researchers, universities, oil and engineering companies (e.g., Eni – Italy, Energian – Greece, Buzzi S.p.A. – Italy), technology providers, the Bellona Foundation, Global CCS Institute, and local industrial stakeholders, participated in the event. Presentations were made in three sessions and concluded with a Panel Discussion. Topics included new technological developments, CCUS scenarios, European regulations, and challenges for implementing CCUS technology to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 in the Baltic and Mediterranean regions.

We thank TalTech for their support.

On 11-12.06.24, the Park Inn by Radisson Central Tallinn hosted a meeting for Europe’s largest practical project in the CCUS chain, HERCCULES (Heroes in Southern Europe to Decarbonize Industry with CCUS). The project involves the capture and injection of CO2 into geological reservoirs in Greece and Italy. More details about the project can be found on the project website: HERCCULES Project and the SHOGenergy website (SHOGenergy HerCCUleS).

SHOGenergy, a participant in this unique European project, was the organizer of these events in the capital of Estonia.
