In 2025, Dr Kazbulat Shogenov was recognized as an EAGE Associate within the EAGE Volunteering Recognition Programme, acknowledging his long-term contribution to the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) as a scientific volunteer, reviewer and session convener.
The official Certificate of Appreciation highlights his dedication, professionalism and commitment to strengthening the global EAGE community.
In 2025 alone, Dr Shogenov completed 10 scientific reviews for the 86th EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition in France.
This recognition continues nearly two decades of active engagement with EAGE. Since 2006, Dr Shogenov has contributed to the international geoscience community through invited peer review of conference submissions and participation in scientific session organization.
His scientific and professional activities focus on CCUS, including CO₂ capture, transport and geological storage, hydrogen technologies, geothermal energy, underground energy storage, energy systems, and innovative subsurface exploration methods.
Dr Shogenov’s involvement with EAGE began almost 20 years ago at an EAGE conference in Vienna, where he delivered one of his first international scientific presentations. The presentation received a very high evaluation from the scientific session organizer, and since then he has been regularly invited to review scientific papers submitted to EAGE conferences.
In later years, he has also contributed as a scientific session convener, supporting the organization of technical sessions and professional scientific exchange.
“I consider the EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition one of the strongest events in the international geoscience community. It brings together world-class researchers, leading energy companies, major geophysical service providers and specialists from across the entire geoscience sector.”
The EAGE Associate 2025 recognition reflects sustained professional service to the geoscience community and continued commitment to scientific quality, knowledge exchange and international cooperation.
Dr Shogenov will continue contributing to EAGE activities while advancing research in CCUS, natural hydrogen, geothermal energy, underground gas and energy storage, and innovative subsurface exploration technologies.
