11-12 December, researchers from the Institute of Textile Technology (ITA) at RWTH Aachen University, ONE OF THE BIGGEST UNIVERSITY IN GERMANY with more than 45,000 STUDENTS visited Taltech, the School of Engineering. Research at ITA contributes to the national hydrogen strategy of the Federal Republic of Germany by developing future vessel systems in hydrogen storage and pipes for the distribution of hydrogen and not only. Taltech, including our team, is cooperating with ITA within the framework of the program BRIDGE2ERA, which aims to promote networking among European partners with a focus on East/East-Southern European partners.
On 11 December, at the welcome meeting Fjodor Sergejev, the dean of the School of Engineering at Taltech, was speaking about the structure of TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology University and the status of the school of engineering.
Dr Alla Shogenova and Dr Kazbulat Shogenov as the main experts of energy geological storage in the Baltic Region, represented their input to Hydrogen studies at Taltech and their experience and potential within Underground Energy Storage.
Alla spoke about participation in the recently finished Horisont Europe Hystories project. Dr Shogenov has introduced a new European ERASMUS+ project Hy-Edu in which our team contributes significantly.
Also, Kazbulat spoke about his and Alla Shogenova experience in teaching on the topic of Underground Energy Storage, including Underground Hydrogen Storage.
The last but not the least topic was the introduction of the unique technology (which SHOGenergy offers for the remote exploration of the underground (until the 5 km depth), using satellite point-by-point sounding of the Earth and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance phenomenon in the lab, for any substances, elements, geothermal data or for structures, needed for a large scale underground hydrogen storage.

After the brief introduction from the TalTech side, the ITA scientists introduced their university and significant input into the development of hydrogen technologies.
At the meeting also participated the main experts of Hydrogen technologies at Taltech: chairman of the Committee EVS/TC 80 Hydrogen Technologies at the Estonian Centre for Standardisation and Accreditation, professor Allan Niidu and others.
