🇺🇸🇪🇪A Delegation from the United States of America Visited TalTech

On 08.10.2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Eugene Holubnyak, Director of the Hydrogen Energy Research Centre, School of Energy Resources, University of Wyoming, accompanied by Taimi Veedla, representative of the U.S. Embassy in Tallinn.

💡 Dr Holubnyak is recognised as one of the leading hydrogen energy experts in the United States.

The visit, initiated by the U.S. Embassy, featured his lecture:

“Regulatory and Policy Challenges for Hydrogen Ecosystem Growth in the United States.” (DOWNLOAD PDF)

The event was officially opened by Fjodor Sergejev, representing the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Engineering, TalTech.

It was my honour to organise Dr Holubnyak’s visit — including the university tour (with the Department of Geology) and the public lecture.

Dr Holubnyak will also take part in the Baltic Carbon Forum (Tallinn, 9–10 October 2025) and several meetings with Estonian ministries, hydrogen and energy companies, and start-ups.

💎Our Estonian research and consulting company, Shogenergy, also held discussions with Avalon Corporation, where Dr Holubnyak serves on the board, regarding ongoing and future cooperation projects.

📸 Huge thanks to Gennadi Baranov (Photographer, Division of Bedrock Geology and Collections, Department of Geology, TalTech) for the excellent photos!

🙏 And special thanks to our friend Balli Chouhan (the owner of the MONK network) for the warm hospitality and delicious VIP dinner at Monk Restaurant in T1 Mall — one of the best restaurants in Tallinn!
