Hy-EDU Project Interview: Skills for the Future Hydrogen Economy

A new interview with Dr Kazbulat Shogenov, a researcher at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), has been published as part of the Hy-EDU Erasmus+ Project.

The interview, conducted by Agnieszka Brejdak and Marta Mikiewicz from ESG Solutions, focuses on the role of education and professional skills in preparing the next generation of engineers for the rapidly developing hydrogen sector.

During the interview, Dr Shogenov discusses several key topics related to the future of hydrogen technologies and engineering education:

  • the skills future engineers will need to work with hydrogen transport and storage systems;
  • the growing importance of hydrogen in the European energy transition;
  • the contribution of the Hy-EDU Project to Europe’s transition towards a hydrogen-based and climate-neutral energy system;
  • the development of the Hy-EDU MOOC course;
  • the importance of international cooperation between universities and project partners.

The Hy-EDU Project aims to integrate knowledge on large-scale sustainable hydrogen transport and geological storage into engineering education and to provide students and professionals with the competencies required for the emerging hydrogen economy.

The project brings together international academic and industry partners to develop modern educational materials and an online course covering key aspects of hydrogen transport, underground storage, infrastructure, safety, and related technologies.
