According to our recommendation, the largest in the world producer of cement and clinker – Heidelberg cement will store CO2 in the depleted oil and gas geological structure offshore UK, Hamilton. Heidelberg cement is launching an industrial CO2 capture and geological storage project from its factories in the UK! The first in the history of the world in the cement industry!
In the frames of project Cleanker, the leaders of the company Shogenergy, within the team of Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), recommended storing 800,000 tonnes of CO2 per year of the Hanson’s Padeswood plant in the Hamilton offshore depleted structure.
Up to 10 million tonnes of CO2 emissions will reduce by 2030.
The Heidelberg cement is a pioneer of such a project in the world!
