Course on technological innovation in shale production, climate change, CCUS technology and underground energy storage


On December 7, 2023, in Ida-Viru County (Toila SPA Hotel), the last training course of the year was held, organized by TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, Department of Geology: “Technological innovations in oil shale production. Climate change and the need to reduce CO2 emissions.” This event was attended by specialists from the mining industry in Idavirumaa (VKG – Viru Keemia Grupp). Dr. Alla Shogenova and Dr. Kazbulat Shogenov were invited to conduct a short course on climate change and technologies for capturing, transporting, using, and geological storage of CO2 (CCUS). For the first time, this unique course was translated into Russian. The course lasted three hours, and next week an extended version (7 hours, also in Russian) will be held at TalTech Virumaa College.
